Food as Medicine Series: Pt. 1- Holistic Health Overview

  • Aitkin Farmers Market 190 Southgate Drive Aitkin, MN, 56431 United States (map)

What is Holistic Health and Why is it Important?

Join us at the Aitkin Farmers Market for the kick off of a collaborative Food as Medicine seminar series where we link aspects of our physical and mental health to the food we put in our bodies!

This is the first out of six monthly seminars that will be engaging, one-hour experiences designed to deepen your connection to foods that nourish your body and amplify your health.

In this introductory session, Dr. Tim Arnold, MD from Riverwood Healthcare Center will explore the three major body systems and the essential micronutrients that support their function. You’ll gain practical insight into how everyday foods contribute to energy, immunity, and overall wellness.

The session will also feature live culinary demonstrations focused on preparing kale and fresh herbs in ways that enhance digestion and maximize nutrient absorption. Learn simple, approachable techniques you can bring into your own kitchen, while discovering new ways to enjoy seasonal produce.

Whether you’re new to nutrition or looking to expand your knowledge, this interactive event offers a welcoming space to learn, taste, and connect.

Come curious—and leave inspired to use food as a powerful tool for health.

Mark your calendars! We look forward to seeing you there!
